IKEA

Client: IKEA

Problem: Develop a cohesive icon library for internal communication that captures IKEA’s brand essence across product categories, technology, production, retail, and sustainability

My role: As a Digital Art Director Intern at Accenture Song, I was selected by a freelance Creative Manager, commissioned by IKEA, to co-develop and execute a comprehensive icon library for IKEA Sweden. Drawing on my prior experience designing icon systems for VELUX, I played a key role in translating defined communication needs into a scalable and consistent visual system.

A central focus of the project was defining an iconographic language that reflects IKEA’s identity—simple, modern, minimalistic, and instantly recognizable. Together with IKEA, we identified key need states and areas of application, which guided the development process from concept to final execution.

The result is a flexible and widely adopted icon library that is now actively used across IKEA’s internal communication, supporting clarity and brand consistency across touchpoints.
